Earth Mother

Cultivating Rootedness, Presence, Trust & Belonging

Mother Earth - Earth Mother

Mother Earth.  Gaia. Prithvi Mata.  Pachamama.  Isis. Yemaya.  She goes by many names.  She is the source of life that nourishes us.  She gifts us the food we eat, the air we breathe, the water we drink.  Her body holds our body, and yet, we also hold her within us.

When we root into Mother Earth and reconnect with her cycles and seasons, we reconnect with our own internal cycles and seasons.  When we re-engage with nature, we remember that we are members of an expansive and infinite family of life.  Not only do we begin to see ourselves in nature, but we begin to see nature inside of us.  And we remember we ourselves are nature.   We are natural.  We are instinctual.  We are the living embodiments of Mother Earth.

During this 4 weeks of the Worm Moon, March’s Blue Moon:
  • We’ll explore various ways to grow our rootedness, a deep and nourishing connection to place and time from which presence, trust and belonging arise.
  • We’ll practice the art of Being, the ability to come home to the body and dance in the present moment.
  • We’ll cleanse, clear and activate the 1st Chakra, the Muladhara or Root Chakra.
  • We’ll reconnect to our instinctual rhythms as embodiments of the Feminine Divine and reflections of the Moon and the Stars, intimately connected to Mother Earth’s Seasons.
  • You’ll be fed, nourished, inspired.
  • You’ll be held in a safe and loving circle of women on the same path of becoming.

About the Pacing & Depth of this Circle:

The movement of this time together will be gentle and easy, truly reflecting the fluid flow of our natural feminine divine essence.  Imagine: Space. Ease. Breathing Room. Slowing Down.  Centering.  There will not be a list for Doing each week, but a variety of invitations to enter into Being, practices that can become integral tools in your life for cultivating Presence.

Becoming

I sit on a weather worn wooden bench in a garden,
draped from head to knees by a large pale brown prayer shawl
adorned with golden Oms

laced through with shimmering silver threads,

a gift from a grateful yoga student reminding us of our connection.

Nearby stands a homemade beehive
emanating a low hum that floats through the air, a soothing sound
interweaving with the sweet smell of golden grasses warmed by the sun.

To me the bee's buzzing is not the sound of industry but of
unadulterated joy,
like the joy you feel when you slowly, sensually, savor raw honey
with devotion-like attention to
the satiny smooth and gritty crystalline textures,
as you take into your being the sacred life essence
of clover or orange blossoms or honeysuckle.

Or like when you chance upon a clearing in the woods where
a doe and her fawn graze on tender grasses amongst
those adorable tiny white flowers that emerge each year around this same time.
You know the ones I'm talking about,
with their soft silken petals that bring a smile to your face
because they remind you of everything that is
new and fresh and innocent.
That's it. They look like innocence.

I become drowsy,
allowing the thoughts about everything I'm experiencing to
float like clouds.
I give myself completely to the moment.
The Witness becomes the Participant.
  The Dancer becomes the Danced.

I taste the sweet nectar in the beehive.
I  feel the golden lifeforce of honey that flows through the center of me.
Earth’s breath is dancing the flowers.

Earth’s breath is breathing Me.
A hawk calls from the sky.
I soar into spaciousness as
my awareness roots deep into the warm womb of Earth.
My body becomes Her body.
Her heartbeat becomes my heart.
An ancient memory awakens.
I sink, surrendering my grasping to what I am, and
rise up in my Becoming.

~ Toi Lynn Wyle

What Others Are Saying...

“The retreat reminded me that Silence gives me shelter.”

The Embodied Awareness day long actually was very similar to what I hoped it would be. One of my favorite things was lying on my back, looking through that magnificent skylight, and watching clouds literally zoom across the sky. The clouds for me represented the “thousand and one things” that pull us off center and steal our peace. They also symbolized the freedom of spirit to soar and float on the wind. Kind of paradoxical, but that’s what I like. The retreat reminded me that Silence gives me shelter from the storms of the world. If I embrace it frequently, it opens its arms and enfolds me with protection and love.

“…to be in the moment…”

My intention for the Embodied Awareness Retreat was to be in the moment...although I recall integration came up for me. My hope was that I would have a day of disconnect from the electronic world and the needs of my family. I had no expectations. I am always amazed that one can take a short drive and be in a completely different environment. My mind still holds the picture of getting out of my car in a snow dusted hidden valley. The major take away for me was how challenging being in the moment is when not on retreat. My favorite experiences were outdoors. I walked in two different directions and found myself drawn to the sound of rushing water. I found my way to the bank of the creek where the water was still. Connecting to that stillness increased my awareness of how often I am in the center of the rushing stream trying to figure out where I am going, and how grateful I am for moments of stillness. Then walking on the winding trail and questioning what was at the end and recognizing that I was not present for the journey while thinking about the destination. With all the changes in my life in the last year or so, I have become increasingly aware of how the destination has been my focus, rather than the journey itself. I have spent alot of time trying to figure out what it is I am supposed to do, looking for...

Best retreat I have ever been a part of…and had the most growth from.

I've officially registered! And I read every word from the link provided with all the accolades from previous participants. I recommend anyone considering one of Toi Lynn's events to read through this. Everything I read was a solid bullseye in truth. I never felt so in touch with myself than while I was participating in Toi Lynn's winter women's retreat. This is something you can do at your own pace, in your own time. Participate actively or quietly. Your choice. No pressure. And you feel and know that you are never alone in the process. Best retreat I have ever been a part of...and had the most growth from. I Highly recommend this experience for anyone that wants to reach her highest potential of self knowledge and growth. I look forward to learning and growth with sisters I know, have recently met and those I will meet and grow to love. Till then...♥♡♥♡ ~ Kristina, St. Paul, MN

“Being on this journey of healing with her has been one of the greatest gifts in my life.”

Toi Lynn is a very warm, welcoming, open hearted, non-judgmental, comforting, and authentic person. She demonstrates these characteristics in every aspect of her work. Over the past few years, I have participated in several daylong retreats where she taught yoga; led us through visualization and drumming exercises; and meditations. Everything flowed in a very beautiful, natural way. Nothing felt forced or out of place. She led the group through the day with structure and at the same time gave us space to just be and focus on our own intentions. This has also been my experience with her through our many hours of one-on-one coaching and online group retreats. Through our work together, she has helped me heal, live a fuller life, and has filled my “tool box” with tools that have been very significant in getting me through very difficult times. Throughout our journey together, she has been right there with me, present, creating a safe space for me to heal and develop. She has a rare ability that is hard to find in a person, which is to see people for who they truly are without expectation or judgment and recognize their value. Knowing her, being able to call her a friend and being on this journey of healing with her has been one of the greatest gifts in my life.

“Toi Lynn helped me to see and activate the vast potential for personal growth…”

I called Toi Lynn Wyle after looking her up and reading some of her writing on her website. I was attracted to her more intuitive approach to psychotherapy. After consistent one on one sessions, I was able to start practicing the self nurturing that I so much needed. Toi Lynn helped me to see and activate the vast potential for personal growth that I had not been able to see before. Toi Lynn taught me how to access the tools to practice self love and self care. Receiving Toi Lynn's guidance has irreversibly changed the course of my life for the positive. She has shown me a world of resources for maintaining my ongoing inner joy. I continually return to her guidance and wisdom as I make my way along this newfound journey by participating in her retreats or reading her writing on her website. I wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone seeking a resolution to a specific issue or personal growth in general. Either way, you are in good hands with Toi Lynn.

Toi Lynn is our guiding mother in sound and in motion. She leads us on a multigenerational, cross cultural  and all inclusive journey to learning who we are. At her first whisper, her voice puts you at ease......the trust comes and the powerful lessons flow. It's opening to the possibility......the chance that in this life I will arrive to the place where happily I say hello to marvelous me.

It was both profound and gentle…

I'm writing to thank you for the retreat, Awakening Shakti. I wasn't sure what to expect but felt drawn to your course because of your energy. It was both profound and gentle. Everyone came at different points, different ideas and you accommodated everyone seamlessly. I love that you encouraged everyone to go at their own pace, to take what they needed. Each mediation, each activity, every word and image built this safe sort of cocoon for my own exploration of my own desires and my own journey. Your obvious knowledge of this process made it seem natural and effortless but I know it went so well because of your expertise, hard work and ability to guide the circle. This is no small feat. I've done 2 different online courses in the past few years and none were as awesome as this one. I just didn't get to the same place. But in yours I discovered so much about myself. I actually felt a part of the circle (instead of looking from the outside). I felt the support of you and of the circle of wonderful women and I also felt comfortable to explore my own soul work privately. You allowed things to unfold naturally and gave guidance at just the right times. It was the perfect balance. I've been opened. Thank you, very deep gratitude to you. I look forward to the next!

The Bliss workshop came at a time in my life when I was experiencing a personal loss that was consuming me.  With the loving support and guidance of Toi Lynn, I was able to begin my healing journey and feel the pain in my body begin to melt away.  I am grateful for every moment of yoga practice and the Bliss workshop was a reminder that the road to healing of the mind, body, and spirit is through patience and allowing myself to be.  Shanti (Peace)

The healing begins here.

The healing begins here, and it feels soooo good! Finally. Part of my undoing, and relearning requires a loving, smiling, playful goddess who understands my innermost feminine self, because she too is me. A goddess guru who not only guides but is guided by the Sacred Divine of Feminine Connection! Toi Lynn Wyle is unlike any woman with whom I have blended paths. Not only does she have a beautiful relationship with the earth, but the sky as well! With the day and the night. And the gifts she shares, and the way we grow all together ~ like old vines ~ as she waters us, feeds us, encourages us to keep reaching down deep and up high, is one of the most divine bits of the universe I have ever witnessed. Have I grown up? Yes. Have I grown down? Oh indeed! Still, I have only begun to learn I am complete. Toi Lynn has introduced me to my spirit guides (who knew I had one, much less, many!?) She has played, giggled, cried, listened, she has spoken and taken me on journeys I will never forget. My heart just keeps unfolding, it's endless. Nurtured by the winter retreat, I feel not only a deeper connection to my intuition and place on Mother Earth, but a strong bond between other women. The circle reaches far. It is safe. It's is beautifully nurturing. It is necessary. I am ever grateful to Toi Lynn.
